This one-of-a-kind came about when we were lucky to acquire a 1950s-vintage German-made Grundig tube radio with a smashed cabinet, and a lovely big wartime Hungarian table radio with a very clean cabinet but mediocre electronics. The Grundigs were known for their excellent tone, so the Grundig power amp, output transformer and large oval speaker have been married to a custom preamp design utilizing the original tubes, NOS components, and retrofitted into the very purely styled Hungarian cabinet. The single-ended (i.e. Class A) EL84 pentode delivers 3 watts of room-filling sound from this unique piece. Don't let the novelty of this amp fool you: our signature circuit design and high-grade component use result in a very musical amp. Matching moderne handle added for transporting the larger-than-you-might-expect Miss Grundy from bedroom to recording studio. A custom hemp fabric cover can be ordered for an additional $90. The 1952 Chevrolet DeLuxe is shown for scale only, and is not included.
