Just for fun, we packaged our Solitaire tube DI with a 120+ watt Class D solid state amp to create a very giggable one-handed amp that will feed any speaker load from 6 to 16 ohms. And because typical Class D amps sound highly unmusical when they hit the wall, we've added an analog soft clipping circuit to ensure that never happens (not that you're likely to need it). The Sixty One Twenty has all of Solitaire's main features, including a transformer-balanced high-quality XLR output, nine-way tone stack switching, headphone output, line in/fx loop, etc. We added a footswitch for convenient jumping between A/B volume controls, and gave the power amp its own volume control. All this oomph in a six-pound package with a universal external lightweight power supply. Why didn't we put the Sixty One Twenty into production? The field is already full of grab-and-go hybrids, and the chip makers couldn't be counted on to deliver the goods consistently. Our loss, your gain (and lots of it). One only.
